Mr. Santosh Sapkota is a professional trekking guide for Nepal Hiking Team. He has been working in the trekking industry for over 15 years and has gained extensive knowledge from his experience. Sapkota holds a trekking guide license issued by the Ministry of Nepal Tourism.

Having successfully completed the required course, Sapkota found it a rewarding challenge due to his love for trekking. He is now highly professional in this field and is also a fluent English communicator. Clients adore him and are often impressed by his excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge about the mountains, and friendly, approachable nature.

His favorite treks include the Manaslu Circuit Trek, which he finds especially fulfilling due to its stunning landscapes and rich cultural experiences. 

A peace-minded individual, Sapkota enjoys the serenity of the mountains, which aligns perfectly with his calm and composed personality. Professional and well-experienced are just a few of the words clients use to describe Santosh.

    My husband and I spent a month in Nepal and had the opportunity of two treks with the Nepal Hiking Team. We started with the Langtang Valley Trek, which was an incredible "warm-up" to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Short Trek. Please refer to the separate review for that amazing experience. After hiking above 16,000ft at the summit of Chorka Ri, we were well-prepared for ABC. This trek is a breathtaking loop up a 3,300-step staircase leading to several spectacular vantage points (hello, Poon Hill!) before a thrilling approach to the base of Machapuchare (Fishtail) and the Annapurna range.

    Each day brought new and increasingly stunning views as we neared ABC. On finally arriving, we didn’t feel small but rather privileged to stand in awe of the mountains we had spent a week reaching. Reaching the base camp would have been enough. However, Nepal Hiking Team made it truly outstanding. 

    Our guide, Santosh, and porter, Sabin, flawlessly guided our experience. Their expertise in trekking strategy, topography, botany, and life made this the journey of a lifetime. Thank you, gentlemen. And a big thank you to Balaram and Ganga (the masterminds behind Nepal Hiking Team) for everything you do.

    My daughter and I found out about this company at the last minute for our November Annapurna Circuit trek, and we couldn’t have been luckier! With just 28 days to organize, Nepal Hiking Team truly delivered. Ganga was incredibly accommodating with the schedule, the end point, and everything in between. He even arranged for some forgotten personal items to be sent from a teahouse to my hotel. Ganga was there to greet us at the start of the trek and again at the end before we left Nepal. During the trek, we were in excellent hands with our guide, Santosh, and our porter, Suncar. We couldn’t have asked for a better duo.

    Everything was handled seamlessly—comfortable accommodations each night, three meals a day, and even fruit after every evening meal. They were simply fantastic!

    Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and exactly what we had hoped for. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a hassle-free trekking adventure.
