This jungle safari takes you to one of Nepal's most popular national parks.
This Nepal Adventure Tour will take you on a unique adventure, from cultural sightseeing to a Jungle Safari in Chitwan. It will provide you with everything you can do in Nepal.
Your Nepal Adventure Tour starts once you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A representative from the Nepal Hiking Team will greet you and escort you to your hotel for your overnight stay. After being briefed about the trip, you’ll have the rest of the evening to yourself.
The next day, you’ll take a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. You'll explore world heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, and Swyambhunath. After a day of explorations, you’ll return to your hotel for your next adventure tomorrow.
You’ll then take a scenic drive towards Pokhara early in the morning. You’ll make a stop at Chauradi for your rafting adventure. You’ll raft for about 2 to 3 hours before having lunch and moving towards Pokhara. On the way to Pokhara, you drive along the river on one side and a lush hill on the other side. After reaching Pokhara, you go straight to your hotel and check-in. You can stroll around the lakeside in the evening or enjoy a leisurely boat ride in the Fewa Lake if there's enough time.
The following day, you start your Nepal adventure journey towards Ulleri. You drive to Birethanti and start your trek through the bamboo forest, passing large waterfalls and swimming holes, to reach the village of Ulleri. The magnificent sunrise enlightens the entire mountain range, and you’ll get a panoramic view of the Himalayas, such as Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, etc. After your breakfast at Ghorepani, you make your way towards Tadapani.
You descend steeply through a forest and reach the village of Ghandruk. It is a central point for treks in the Annapurna region, particularly the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Circuit Trek. The peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiuchuli, and many more can be seen. After reaching Ghandruk, you drive all the way back to Pokhara. The next day, you begin your day with a canoe ride in the Rapti River and a jungle walk. You end your day with a jungle jeep safari through the forest of the National Park.
Your Nepal best tour adventure ends after you drive back to Kathmandu the next day. As your plane touches down at Tribhuvan International Airport, the first glimpse of the surrounding hills and bustling city sets the tone for your Himalayan journey.
At the arrival gate, a Nepal Hiking Team representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu.
After check-in, you may take time to rest, refresh, and settle in. If energy permits, a short walk through the vibrant streets of Thamel offers a colorful introduction to Nepalese culture, with prayer flags, local shops, and the aroma of traditional cuisine filling the air.

After breakfast, we will meet you for a short trek briefing and preparation. Once the orientation is complete, your guided sightseeing tour will begin, covering four UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Swyambhunath (Monkey Temple), the grand Boudhanath Stupa, and the revered Pashupatinath Temple.

After breakfast, we leave Kathmandu and begin our scenic drive toward Pokhara, Nepal’s second-largest city and the gateway to the Annapurna region.
On the way, we stop at Chauradi for an exciting rafting experience on the Trishuli River, paddling through fun rapids for about three hours.
Following a riverside lunch, the journey continues along winding hillsides, terraced fields, and traditional villages until we arrive in Pokhara.
After checking into the hotel, the evening offers a relaxing option to enjoy boating on the calm waters of Fewa Lake, where the stunning reflections of Mount Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna Range shimmer against the lake’s surface.

After breakfast, we take a short drive to Birethanti, the starting point of our trek. From here, the trail winds past lush bamboo groves, sparkling waterfalls, and small swimming holes where locals often gather during warmer months.
Crossing a suspension bridge, we begin the long ascent on Ulleri’s famous stone staircase—over 3,300 steps that steadily climb the hillside.
At the top, we arrive in the Magar village of Ulleri, set at 2,080 meters, where traditional stone houses and terraced fields provide a glimpse into the region’s rich cultural life.

Leaving Ulleri, the trail ascends gradually through terraced farmlands and rhododendron forests, offering a refreshing mix of cultivated fields and natural beauty.
After passing a few streams and resting at small tea stops, we continue toward Nangethanti, a pleasant forest clearing where we pause for lunch. From here, the path climbs steadily through dense rhododendron and oak forest, which in spring bursts into brilliant red and pink blossoms.
The final stretch brings us to Ghorepani, a charming Gurung and Magar settlement perched at 2,880 meters. From this vantage point, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of snow-clad peaks including Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Nilgiri (6,940m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), and Tarke Kang (7,193m).
In winter, parts of the trail may be blanketed in snow, adding a serene, alpine atmosphere to the journey.

Before dawn, we make the short but steep hike to the famous viewpoint of Poon Hill, the crown jewel of this journey.
As the first rays of sunlight sweep across the horizon, an awe-inspiring panorama unfolds—stretching from Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna I (8,091m) to Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and dozens of other snow-draped peaks. The spectacle of golden light washing over the Himalayas is often described as the highlight of the entire trek.
After savoring the view and capturing photographs, we descend to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast.
From here, the trail leads through enchanting rhododendron and oak forests, alive with birdsong and rich greenery. Gentle ascents and descents carry us across ridges and streams before we reach Tadapani, a small settlement tucked into the forest. This village is famous for its close-up views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli, offering yet another unforgettable mountain backdrop.

We begin the day with a breathtaking sunrise from Tadapani, where the first light illuminates Himchuli, Annapurna South, and the distinctive Machhapuchhre, while the Kimrong Valley spreads out beautifully below.
After breakfast, we descend through dense rhododendron and oak forests along a scenic trail that gradually opens to terraced farmlands and traditional Gurung settlements. By midday, we reach the cultural hub of Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung villages in the Annapurna region.
Here, you’ll have time to explore the village, visit the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) office, and learn about local traditions at the Gurung museum.
Afterward, we drive back to Pokhara, where a comfortable hotel stay and the serene lakeside atmosphere provide a perfect ending to the trek.

After breakfast, we begin our journey south toward Chitwan, home to one of Asia’s most celebrated wildlife reserves.
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a short briefing about the jungle activities planned during your stay. Later in the afternoon, we visit a nearby Tharu village, where you’ll gain insights into the unique culture and traditions of the indigenous Tharu people.
A stop at the National Park Visitor’s Center provides further introduction to the park’s wildlife and conservation history.
As evening approaches, we head to the banks of the Rapti River to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the jungle horizon.
After dinner, the day concludes with either a traditional Tharu cultural dance performance or an informative slideshow presentation on Chitwan’s natural and cultural heritage.

Today is dedicated to exploring the remarkable biodiversity of Chitwan National Park.
Your day begins with a canoe ride along the Rapti River, where you may spot gharials, marsh crocodiles, and a variety of water birds along the banks.
Following this, a guided jungle walk takes you deeper into the forest in search of deer, wild boar, monkeys, and a colorful array of birdlife.
Later in the day, a jeep safari carries you further into the park’s wilderness, offering a chance to encounter the rare one-horned rhinoceros and other fascinating wildlife species.
Bird watching and a nature interpretation walk with your experienced guide round out the experience, providing deeper insights into the park’s diverse ecosystem.
All meals are served at your hotel, and the evening is free to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
Please note that an elephant safari is not included, as we support responsible tourism and avoid any activity involving wildlife touching or captivity.

After completing our jungle explorations, we bid farewell to Chitwan and begin the drive back to Kathmandu.
The journey takes us along scenic rivers, rolling hills, and rural settlements, offering one last glimpse of Nepal’s diverse landscapes.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the afternoon is free for rest, last-minute shopping, or simply relaxing in the lively district of Thamel.

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Nepal Hiking Team will escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. As your journey concludes, you’ll leave Nepal with lasting memories of the mountains, wildlife, and warm hospitality.

The best time for the Nepal Adventure Tour is spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). These months mark the peak trekking season. The weather is evident with the bright blue skies during these months. You’ll hike with the warm sun as your companion. In the evening, you’ll see the skies turn into a beautiful pinkish shade. As the animals come out of their hibernation, these months are prime time for Jungle safaris in Chitwan National Park or Bardia National Park.
Activities like rafting and canoeing can be risky as the weather gets unpredictable and harsh in the monsoon (June to August) and winter (winter to February). Hence, the tour is not recommended but can be arranged upon request.
Your trip and tour to Nepal adventure is unique to others because of its natural beauty, cultural experience, and unique adventurous activities. Every moment is exciting, from rafting in Trishuli to trekking in the Annapurna region and jungle safari in Chitwan.
Likewise, Nepal’s landscape provides a range of adventurous opportunities. But what truly sets this tour apart is its focus on sustainable tourism and responsible travel practices. It strives to support the livelihood and reduce environmental impact by uniting with the local community.
So, if you want to experience a thrilling and peaceful trip, Nepal Adventure Tour is the right choice.

Read our genuine feedback from past travelers with Nepal Hiking Team sourced from TripAdvisor, Google, Facebook, and Trustpilot.
I just completed trekking in Nepal together with another solo traveler. The service of Nepal Hiking Team was exemplary from the start till the end. Nothing beats word-of-mouth good reviews.
Mr. Ganga has been very responsive to queries from Day 1 and was physically present even on the last day to officially close the loop for the package tour.
Our guide Bibek was very patient and sincere as he led us through the trek. He resolved issues with his heart and people skills and gave assurance whenever plans suddenly changed.
He ensured things were changed for the better. Our porter, Rajendran, was also good and always arrived ahead of time to ensure our rooms were confirmed.
- Guided by Bibek Dhamala
We had the best time in Nepal. The beautiful views and warm hospitality of the Nepali people are truly unparalleled.
Instrumental to our amazing experience were our guide, Netra, and porter, Vasu.
We were super well taken care of. Netra was quick to assess our physical abilities and was able to effectively set the pace for our hikes. He had very good knowledge of the route and terrain. Importantly, this was our first time attempting a hike at a high altitude, so he took extra care to check on us regularly.
On a personal note, proper gear, including a powerful down jacket for -20 degrees Celsius and a proper hiking backpack, is super essential.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Nepal Hiking Team and Netra/Vasu for your Nepal adventure!
I highly recommend the Nepal Hiking Team for anyone planning to trek in Nepal. My spouse and I had a fantastic time on our trek and greatly credit our positive experience to the thought and care put into it by Nepal Hiking Team in coming up with a personalized plan that would enable us to succeed.
Every detail was considered to match us based on our abilities and interests. We also could not have felt more cared for minute to minute by the team that supported us from the minute we arrived in Kathmandu until our departure.
Our guide, Nim, was amazing -- so careful, thoughtful, warm, and supportive. And our porters, Sabin and Ganesh, were delightful. They were all unbelievably generous in terms of how much they worked to ensure we were comfortable and prepared. They thought of every detail along the way.
- Guided By Nim Dahal
I had a fantastic experience with Nepal Hiking Team. From the start, they were easy to work with, helpful, affordable, and very accommodating. I did the 15-day Gokyo Lakes, Cho La Pass, and Everest Base Camp trek, along with the Chitwan National Park package.
Our guide, Lakpa, was amazing. With over 100 trips to EBC under his belt, he had lots of experience. He gave us great suggestions to make the most of each day and was very flexible, warm, and insightful. It was clear he cared about our health and enjoyment. Our porter, Sukra, was hardworking, polite, and a great help.
I’m really glad I added the Chitwan Park trip. It was a wonderful jungle experience with elephants, rhinos, crocodiles, and many birds. At first, I thought the price was high, but it was worth it. The accommodation was fantastic, like a resort with good food and great tour guides, right in nature. Just be ready for a long (5-9 hours depending on traffic) and bumpy but air-conditioned bus ride to and from Chitwan if you choose that option.
I would happily recommend Nepal Hiking Team and Lakpa to anyone and would definitely consider them again if I return to Nepal.
I was in Nepal for a short while for work, and during that short time, I had wanted to look at the cultural sites the city had. For that, I had contacted Nepal Hiking Team to see if they had the option of arranging short trips like I wanted. And, sure enough, they did. Not only that, they made sure I got the most for my experience as well. We started off with cultural sites around the valley that were listed on the UNESCO list. First was the excursion to the temple of Pashupatinath. Looking at the temples and the people gathered there, it was very enjoyable. Visiting the Bouddhanath Stupa, I rotated the prayer circles and sat and observed the religious atmosphere of the stupa. It was serene and lovely. The guide who was assigned to me seems to know a whole lot about the destinations and told me stories and history of the places. For a short trip of the destinations, I sure did end up learning and knowing a whole lot. Because of this, I really appreciate the services of Nepal Hiking Team. They truly outdid themselves at a short trip around the valley. This excursion to destinations and cultural sites made my short trip at Nepal a lot more than what I was expecting from a short conference for my work. The country is really beautiful, and even though the city is loud and crowded at times, the historical sites and cultural destinations must be well-preserved. After all, the excursion to these sites should be done by all. Nepal Hiking Team is a good travel agency who delivered on their service. For this, I now have a good impression of them and would definitely choose NHT for further travel needs of mine.
Nepal Hiking Team holds a government-registered tourism license (No. 1033) and is a member of the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) and the Nepal Mountaineering Association. The Nepal Adventure Tour is planned and operated entirely in-house by a local team with deep, firsthand knowledge of every destination on the route, including Kathmandu's heritage sites, the Ghorepani-Poon Hill trekking trail, the Trishuli River rafting stretch, and Chitwan National Park. Every guide, porter, and driver assigned to your trip is selected for their professionalism, experience, and genuine commitment to your safety and enjoyment.
All guides are government-licensed professionals fluent in English and trained in first aid. They bring detailed knowledge of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the trekking route from Birethanti through Ulleri, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk, and the wildlife and cultural programs inside Chitwan National Park. Past travellers have praised guides like Bibek Dhamala, Netra, and Nim Dahal for their attentiveness, cultural insight, and genuine care throughout the journey. Your guide sets the pace based on your fitness, monitors your condition daily, and handles all logistics so you can focus entirely on the experience.
Responsible travel is built into the design of this tour from the start. Elephant safaris are deliberately excluded from the Chitwan program because Nepal Hiking Team does not support activities that involve wildlife captivity or direct human contact with wild animals. The jungle safari instead uses a jeep and guided walk format, allowing wildlife to be observed naturally in their habitat. The tour also works with local Tharu communities in Chitwan and Gurung families in Ghandruk to ensure that tourism income benefits the people who actually live in these regions.
Nepal Hiking Team provides 24-hour emergency support through their Kathmandu head office, reachable by phone or WhatsApp at +977 9851058678. The company also has representatives in Switzerland and Australia, making pre-trip communication easier for travellers across different time zones. A Nepal Hiking Team representative will meet you personally at Tribhuvan International Airport on arrival, escort you throughout the trip, and see you off on your departure day. The team is also reachable at sales@nepalhikingteam.com for any pre-trip questions or itinerary queries.
Nepal Hiking Team holds a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 713 verified reviews sourced from TripAdvisor, Google, Facebook, and Trustpilot. Travellers consistently highlight the professional and personal approach of the guides, the quality of logistics, and the variety of experiences packed into the itinerary. The company is also a recognised partner with international travel platforms TourRadar and Bookmundi, giving additional confidence to first-time visitors planning their Nepal trip.
When your flight touches down at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, situated at approximately 1,400 metres above sea level, a Nepal Hiking Team representative will be waiting at the arrival gate to welcome you and escort you by private vehicle to your hotel. Day 1 is your arrival and settling-in day, with no activities scheduled. If energy permits after the journey, a short walk through the nearby streets of Thamel offers a vivid first introduction to Kathmandu's colours, prayer flags, and local street life.
Yes, most nationalities require a visa to enter Nepal. The Nepal entry visa is listed under Cost Excludes for this tour, meaning you are responsible for arranging and paying for it independently. Tourist visas are available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will need a valid passport, a passport-sized photograph, and the visa fee in cash, with USD widely accepted at the visa counter. Visa durations of 15 days, 30 days, and 90 days are available. It is recommended to check the current requirements through your home country's embassy or Nepal's Department of Immigration before travel.
Arriving at least one day before the official start date is strongly recommended to account for any international flight delays or transit disruptions. Day 1 of the Nepal Adventure Tour is your arrival and hotel transfer day, with no sightseeing or activities planned. This buffer gives you time to settle into your hotel, adjust to the time zone, and be fully rested before the Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour begins on Day 2.
The best seasons are spring from March to May and autumn from September to November. These are Nepal's peak travel windows, offering clear skies, stable temperatures, and ideal conditions for the Poon Hill sunrise hike, the Trishuli River rafting, and wildlife viewing at Chitwan National Park. The monsoon season from June to August brings heavy rain that makes trekking and rafting unpredictable, and winter from December to February can bring cold and snow at higher elevations. The tour can be arranged outside these windows upon request, but the experience is significantly better within the recommended seasons.
You can book by contacting Nepal Hiking Team through their website, by phone at +977 14989212, or by WhatsApp at +977 9851058678. Email inquiries can be sent to sales@nepalhikingteam.com. Once your preferred dates and group size are confirmed, the team will guide you through the full booking process. A detailed "How to Book a Trip with NHT" guide is also available on the website. The tour runs as a private trip, meaning it departs on a date that suits you, subject to availability.
The Nepal Adventure Tour is priced on a per-person basis that decreases as group size increases. A solo traveller pays USD 1,480 per person. Groups of 2 to 3 people pay USD 1,150 per person. Groups of 4 to 7 pay USD 1,120 per person, and groups of 8 to 10 pay USD 1,095 per person. The minimum group size for the standard private rate is 2 people. Travelling with friends or family reduces the per-person cost considerably while keeping the trip fully private and exclusive to your group throughout all 11 days.
Nepal Hiking Team operates under a Risk-Free Booking Policy, the full details of which are available at nepalhikingteam.com/risk-free-booking-policy. This policy is designed to give travellers confidence when booking, particularly if plans need to change due to unforeseen circumstances. It is strongly recommended to read this policy in full before confirming your trip, and to also purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellations, medical emergencies, and trip interruptions independently.
Nepal Hiking Team accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, and UnionPay. A dedicated "How to Make a Payment" guide is available on the website for international travellers who need guidance on the transfer process. Tips for your guide, porter, and driver are not included in the tour price and are listed under Cost Excludes. They are expected to be settled in cash at the end of the trip. Tipping is not mandatory but is warmly appreciated by all trekking staff.
All ground transportation throughout the 11-day tour is by private vehicle and is fully included in the tour cost. This covers your airport transfer on arrival and departure, the drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara via the Trishuli rafting stop at Chauradi (approximately 204 km, 7 to 8 hours), the short drive from Pokhara to Birethanti at the trekking trailhead, the return drive from Ghandruk to Pokhara (41 km, about 2 hours), the drive from Pokhara to Chitwan National Park (150 km, 5 to 6 hours), and the final return drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu (170 km, 5 to 6 hours).
No internal flights are included or required on the Nepal Adventure Tour. All travel between Kathmandu, Pokhara, the trekking trailhead at Birethanti, and Chitwan National Park is entirely by private road vehicle. Your international flights to and from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport are also not included in the tour cost and must be arranged independently. Nepal Hiking Team provides a recommended flights guide on their website to help you plan your international travel connections.
The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara covers approximately 204 km and takes 7 to 8 hours. Rather than being a simple transit drive, it is broken up at Chauradi with a 3-hour white-water rafting session on the Trishuli River, followed by a riverside lunch before continuing toward Pokhara. The route passes through terraced rice fields, river valleys, and traditional roadside villages. This stop transforms what would otherwise be a long road journey into one of the most exciting and memorable days of the entire 11-day tour.
The drive from Pokhara to Chitwan covers approximately 150 km and takes 5 to 6 hours, descending from the Annapurna foothills into the flat Terai lowlands where Chitwan National Park is located. The return drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu covers approximately 170 km and takes a similar 5 to 6 hours. Both journeys are by private vehicle, making them more flexible and comfortable than public transport alternatives. Road conditions in Nepal can vary, and travel times may occasionally be affected by traffic or seasonal conditions.
The trekking portion is graded Easy to Moderate and is accessible to travellers with a reasonable level of general fitness and no prior trekking experience. The trek spans four days, covering the route from Birethanti through Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Ghandruk, reaching a maximum elevation of 3,210 metres at Poon Hill. Daily walking distances range from 9 to 11 kilometres, with 4 to 7 hours on the trail each day. The most physically demanding section is the ascent to Ulleri on Day 4, which involves climbing over 3,300 stone steps from the trailhead at Birethanti.
No prior trekking experience is required. The Ghorepani-Poon Hill route is one of Nepal's most popular and well-developed introductory trekking trails, with teahouse accommodation, clear signage, and regular rest stops throughout. Your guide will assess your fitness from the first walking day and pace the group accordingly. Past travellers have specifically noted how their guides adjusted the daily rhythm to match their physical capabilities, making the trek comfortable and enjoyable even for those who had never walked at altitude before.
Yes. The Easy to Moderate grading, the relatively short daily distances, and the well-developed trail make this tour accessible to healthy older adults and families with teenagers who enjoy walking. The non-trekking components of the tour, including the Kathmandu heritage sightseeing, Fewa Lake in Pokhara, the Trishuli rafting, and the Chitwan canoe ride, jungle walk, and jeep safari, are all engaging and manageable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. If you have any specific health conditions, inform Nepal Hiking Team in advance so they can plan accordingly.
The hike to Poon Hill at 3,210 metres begins before dawn from Ghorepani and takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour of uphill walking on a clear, well-worn trail. The distance is short and the path is used daily by hundreds of trekkers during peak season. While the early start and the climb require effort, the panoramic sunrise view over Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Machhapuchhre, and dozens of other snow-draped peaks is consistently described by past travellers as the single most unforgettable moment of the entire tour, making every step of the climb worthwhile.
No. The Chitwan jungle activities on Day 9 include a canoe ride along the Rapti River, a guided jungle walk, and a jeep safari through the national park. None of these require significant physical effort. The canoe ride is a gentle float on calm water, the jungle walk is a slow-paced nature exploration led by your guide, and the jeep safari covers forest terrain by vehicle. The main requirements are alertness, patience, and a willingness to move quietly as your guide leads you through the park in search of one-horned rhinoceroses, gharial crocodiles, deer, wild boar, and birdlife.
A comprehensive first aid kit is carried on all trekking days, and your assigned guide is trained in wilderness first aid and altitude awareness. The Nepal Adventure Tour reaches a maximum of 3,210 metres at Poon Hill, comfortably below the threshold where serious altitude sickness typically develops. Your guide monitors the group's pace and physical condition each day and holds a pre-trek briefing on Day 2 in Kathmandu covering emergency procedures, altitude awareness, and what to do if any health concern arises on the trail. Nepal Hiking Team's 24-hour emergency line at +977 9851058678 is available throughout all 11 days.
Travel insurance is listed under Cost Excludes and is not included in the tour price, but it is strongly recommended for all travellers. Your policy should cover medical evacuation, emergency hospitalisation, trip cancellation, and personal accidents. Given that the tour includes white-water rafting on the Trishuli River, multi-day trekking at altitude, and a jungle safari in Chitwan, comprehensive coverage including emergency evacuation is particularly important. Nepal Hiking Team's website includes a dedicated travel insurance guide to help you identify the right level of cover for this type of multi-activity trip.
Your guide is the first point of contact for any health concern throughout the tour. For trail emergencies, the Ghorepani-Poon Hill route has road access at multiple points, including Birethanti and Ghandruk, which allows for straightforward evacuation back to Pokhara if needed. In Chitwan, your local guide and accommodation staff are familiar with the nearest medical facilities in the area. The Nepal Hiking Team head office in Kathmandu can coordinate additional assistance at any point during the 11 days through the 24-hour emergency contact number.
The Trishuli River rafting at Chauradi is rated moderate difficulty and is well-suited to first-time rafters. The session lasts approximately 3 hours under the supervision of experienced rafting operators. All necessary safety equipment, including life jackets and helmets, is provided at the river. The activity is not recommended during the monsoon season from June to August, when unpredictable river levels and strong currents make conditions significantly more hazardous, which is one of the primary reasons the Nepal Adventure Tour operates best within the spring and autumn windows.
Nepal Hiking Team provides a duffle bag, a down jacket, and a sleeping bag for use during the trekking portion of the tour. You also receive a Nepal Hiking Team T-shirt to keep. The provision of a down jacket and sleeping bag is particularly valuable given that temperatures at Ghorepani (2,880m) and Poon Hill (3,210m) drop significantly, especially during the pre-dawn hike on Day 6. All other personal trekking equipment is listed under Cost Excludes and must be packed or independently rented before the trek begins.
For the four trekking days from Birethanti to Ghandruk, pack sturdy and broken-in trekking boots, moisture-wicking base layers, a warm mid-layer fleece, a waterproof outer jacket, trekking trousers, warm gloves, a beanie, and UV-protective sunglasses. A small daypack for carrying water, snacks, a camera, and personal items is essential. Trekking poles are optional but helpful on the steep stone staircase climb to Ulleri. Bring 2 passport-sized photographs from home specifically for the required trek permits, as these cannot be obtained on the trail.
For the Kathmandu sightseeing days, comfortable walking shoes and modest clothing are appropriate, particularly when visiting sacred sites like Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa, where shoulders and knees should be covered out of respect. For the Trishuli rafting day, quick-dry clothing and sandals or water shoes are ideal as you will get wet. For Chitwan, wear light neutral-coloured clothing for the jungle activities, as bright colours can disturb wildlife. A sun hat, high-factor sunscreen, and insect repellent are essential for the heat and mosquitoes in the Terai lowlands.
Given the Easy to Moderate grading, a moderate level of general fitness is sufficient. In the weeks before departure, build up to regular walking sessions of 2 to 4 hours, including some uphill terrain to prepare your legs for the 3,300-step stone staircase to Ulleri and the early morning Poon Hill ascent. The non-trekking activities including the Kathmandu sightseeing, rafting, and Chitwan jungle safari require no specific physical preparation beyond general good health. Staying well hydrated and walking at a steady, measured pace from Day 4 onward will serve you well throughout the trekking section.
The tour uses a mix of accommodation depending on the destination. In Kathmandu, you stay for three nights at a 3-star category hotel, covering your arrival night, the sightseeing day, and your final night before departure. In Pokhara, two nights are at a 3-star category hotel, with easy access to the Fewa Lake lakeside area in the evenings. During the four-day trek from Birethanti to Ghandruk, Nepal Hiking Team arranges the best available guesthouses along the route. In Chitwan, two nights are at a hotel with full board meals and all jungle tour activities included in the package cost.
The guesthouses along this route are standard Nepali teahouse-style lodges. Rooms typically have two single beds with blankets and basic furnishings. Shared bathroom facilities are common, and hot showers may be available at some lodges for a small additional fee. The dining halls are the social heart of each teahouse, kept warm by a central stove in the evenings and serving as the communal gathering space for trekkers, guides, and host families. Nepal Hiking Team selects the best available lodge at each stop, prioritising cleanliness, hospitality, and the quality of food served.
The two-night Chitwan stay is at a hotel-style property located close to or within Chitwan National Park. Full board meals, the canoe ride on the Rapti River, the guided jungle walk, the jeep safari, the Tharu village visit, and the cultural dance program are all included within the package cost for this section. Past travellers have described the Chitwan accommodation as resort-quality, with good food and a natural, immersive setting that complements the wildlife experience well.
WiFi is generally available at the 3-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Along the trekking route between Birethanti and Ghandruk, WiFi is limited and unreliable, particularly at higher elevations like Ghorepani at 2,880 metres. Purchasing a local SIM card from NTC or Ncell in Kathmandu before departing is the most reliable solution for mobile connectivity during the trek. A portable power bank is strongly recommended for the trekking days, as room charging is not always available and a small fee may apply at shared dining hall charging points in guesthouses at higher altitudes.
Breakfast is included daily from Day 2 through to Day 11. Full board meals covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided during the trekking days from Day 4 to Day 6, with all food prepared fresh at the guesthouse kitchens along the trail. On Day 7, breakfast and lunch are included. During the two-night Chitwan stay, full board meals with tea and coffee are included for the entire Chitwan section. On the Kathmandu to Pokhara drive day (Day 3), a riverside lunch is included after the Trishuli rafting session. All meals not specified in these inclusions are at your own expense.
Trekking meals are prepared fresh at each guesthouse kitchen along the Ghorepani-Poon Hill route. The staple is dal bhat, a traditional Nepali plate of lentil soup, steamed rice, and vegetable curry that is nutritious, filling, and designed to fuel a full day of mountain walking. Other common menu items include noodle soup, fried rice, momos (steamed or fried dumplings), eggs prepared various ways, porridge, and pancakes. In larger villages like Ghorepani, some lodges offer a broader menu with baked goods and coffee, which makes for a welcome treat mid-trek after a long day on the trail.
Only breakfast is included at the hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Lunches and dinners in both cities are at your own expense. Both Kathmandu and Pokhara have a wide range of dining options at all price points, from traditional Nepali eateries to international restaurants in the tourist areas of Thamel in Kathmandu and the lakeside strip in Pokhara. This flexibility gives you the freedom to explore local cuisine independently during your free evenings in both cities without being tied to a fixed dining arrangement.
Cold drinks including bottled water, soft drinks, and juices are listed under Cost Excludes. To stay safely hydrated on the trekking days, it is recommended to use water purification tablets, a UV steriliser pen, or a quality filtered water bottle rather than buying single-use plastic bottles at every teahouse. Boiled water is available at all guesthouses along the trail for a small additional fee. Staying well hydrated is especially important as you gain altitude toward Ghorepani and Poon Hill, as dehydration can contribute to fatigue and mild headaches even at this moderate elevation range.
The Nepal Adventure Tour runs exclusively as a private trip. Your group has sole use of the guide, porter, vehicle, and full itinerary for all 11 days. You are never combined with other travellers from separate bookings. The minimum group size for the standard private rate is 2 people at USD 1,150 per person. Solo travellers are accommodated at USD 1,480 per person to cover the fixed private service costs. Private trips depart on any date that works for your schedule, giving you full flexibility over timing.
Yes. Nepal Hiking Team explicitly offers personalised itinerary planning for travellers whose needs fall outside the standard 11-day program. You can request changes through the customise trip feature on the website or by contacting the team directly by phone, WhatsApp, or email. Common adjustments include extending the trekking section with more days in the Annapurna region, swapping Chitwan for Bardia National Park for a quieter wildlife experience, adding a paragliding session in Pokhara, or spending extra time exploring cultural sites in Kathmandu before the trek begins.
Nepal Hiking Team offers several related packages for travellers with different time or budget requirements. The Best of Nepal Tour is a 14-day package from USD 1,650 per person, adding Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, to the cultural, wildlife, and trekking mix. The Glimpse of Nepal Tour is an 8-day option from USD 980 per person that removes the trekking section. For travellers who want a more focused Himalayan experience, the company also offers dedicated Annapurna region treks including the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and the full Annapurna Circuit, each run as fully supported private itineraries.
Several items fall under Cost Excludes and require a separate personal budget. These include your Nepal entry visa, international flights, travel insurance, all cold drinks and bottled water throughout the trip, any meals not specified in the inclusions, personal trekking equipment, and tips for your guide, porter, and driver. A daily personal spending allowance of approximately USD 20 to 30 is a reasonable estimate for drinks, snacks, optional souvenirs, and independently purchased meals during hotel stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara, though this varies depending on individual habits and shopping preferences.
