On our trek, we walk through vibrant rhododendron forests and friendly Gurung villages. In Ulleri, we climb stone steps that lead us into the heart of the Magar community, where we’re warmly welcomed. We pass through Banthanti and Ghorepani as we continue our journey.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu
We will begin our first day with a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, an ancient site where kings and Nepal's residing goddesses are crowned.
Moving toward, we will visit Swayambhunath Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple. It's a historical religious site where monkeys roam freely.
Next is Boudhanath, one of the biggest round stupas. It has a mandala, which signifies peace and is believed to hold Buddha's relics.
Finally, we will end our day traveling to Pashupatinath Temple, the oldest Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva. There, we will see different variations of Hindu rituals and enjoy the tradition.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara
The adventure from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes around 6 to 7 hours through Trishuli, Marsayngdi, and Seti River gorges, providing exciting attractions of rafters, buses, small towns, and villages. Many restaurants, especially around Kuritar/Mugling, offer many food alternatives along the way.
At night, you can enjoy a leisurely boat ride on Fewa Lake, where you may see the beautiful mirrored image of Mount Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna Range on the calm waters.
Please Note: Instead of a drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you can also opt for a domestic flight. The ride usually takes 6-7 hours or more, depending upon the traffic, and can get exhausting. The flight duration is 25 minutes on-air, and the additional cost is USD 160.00 per person for a round-trip flight after offsetting the cost of ground transportation.
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Ulleri and trek to Banthanti
Note: We provide jeep rides immediately to Ulleri, which has over 3000 stairs. This option is best for families with kids and older members who prefer a more comfortable journey.
After breakfast, we start our adventure by driving. Permits are checked on Birethanti before we reach Hile. The road condition is quite good (an hour) alongside the Lumle road up to Nayapul. The road condition after that is bit rough, so be prepared for the pressure.
From Ulleri, we will start our first hike to Banthanti.
Day 05: Banthanti to Ghorepani
Our trek from Banthanti to Ghorepani is longer in distance. However, the uphills are not as steep, permitting you to take it slow and experience the trek with your family. Along the way, you may experience the extraordinary sights of Himchuli in the morning. As the experience progresses, the terrain will steadily rise to Nangethanti, "Thanti" in Nepali, the "region of rest."
From Nangethanti, hike to Ghorepani. Before reaching our final destination today, permit papers are rechecked, and we hold to Ghorepani, a contemporary village with numerous facilities, including warm water, bookstores, small stores, and bakeries.
During the trek, you may be treated to breathtaking perspectives of Annapurna I (8091 m), Hiunchuli (6441 m), Dhaulagiri I (8167 m), Nilgiri (6940 m), and their neighboring peaks.
Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani
We start our walk early, before dawn, for a forty-five-minute climb up Poon Hill with water, flashlights, and cameras. The slope is steep, including stone steps, but the way is straightforward to follow. There is a ticket counter before entering the Poon Hill. At the top, we're welcomed with a beautiful sunrise and lovely views of the Himalayas, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and so on. You could even climb to the tower for the best 360-panaromic vistas of the Mountains. Capture this particular second together with your own family and cherished ones.
Later, we head back on the same route to Ghorepani for breakfast. Then, we travel through the village of Deurali, with many ups and downs, via lush rhododendron forests. If the weather is good, we'll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Fishtail, Annapurna, etc.
Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk
Today, we're blessed to witness the sunrise from our rooftop before our trek begins. Our journey starts after breakfast, following an easy route with flat and downhill trails, allowing us to relax and enjoy the hike with family and friends. We cross through dense forests and Bhaisi Kharka, passing by mules and the Annapurna Range.
We visit the Annapurna Conservation Office and the charming Gurung community and arrive at Ghandruk, a peaceful Gurung village. We will stroll around the Gurung Museum. Yet, the views of Mt. Annapurna, Himchuli, and Machhapurchhe are still stunning.
Day 08: Trek to Kimche then drive to Pokhara
As our Poon Hill family trek comes to an end, we feel a mix of happiness and sadness. Today's hike is short and easy, taking us through green fields and downhill paths. We leave Ghandruk, cross the last bridge, and reach Kimche, a small village filled with greenery.
Then, we take a jeep back to Pokhara, enjoying the beautiful scenery and the changing landscapes, passing by charming villages and terraced farmlands along the way.
Although the family adventure trek has come to an end, the memories and the bond formed will stay with us forever, reminding us of the beauty of each and everything.
Day 09: Pokhara to Kathmandu
It is time to say goodbye to our family mountain adventure, which brought us many unique experiences and happy memories. After a good breakfast, we start our journey back to Kathmandu. We will follow the same route through beautiful places like the Trishuli, Marsayngdi, and Seti River gorges.
As we travel through these stunning landscapes, we feel so happy, remembering the fun hiking times and the moments we shared as a family. Every mile we cover brings us closer to home, but we still feel excited about our amazing days in nature.
Day 10: Farewell/ Tour Ends
As your adventure with the Nepal Hiking Team concludes, cherish the recollections and bonds formed. Though this journey ends, infinite more wait. Farewell for now, till we meet again for new horizons. Our representative will be there to bid you farewell at the airport.
