Hard to Describe Such an Incredible Experience in one review. I booked a 14-day trek with Nepal Hiking Team to do EBC and Cho La Pass as a solo traveller. I joined a group of seven, which ended up being the perfect size—big enough to be social, but not so large that it felt overwhelming. Everyone was lovely, with a great mix of ages, nationalities, solo travellers, and friends.
I was honestly so impressed with how smoothly everything went. From airport pickup to the comfortable hotel in Thamel, and the entire trek itself—everything was well organized. Our guide, Ram, was always smiling, full of energy, and kept us motivated on the tough days. Ramgee, our assistant guide, was incredibly kind and even sang beautiful songs while we hiked. The porters were amazing—so helpful and kind. A few times, after dropping our big bags, they even came back to help with daypacks!
The tea houses were cozy and always had good food. Some of us did get sick—kind of expected on this trek—but the guides were great, helping with meds and giving us time to rest. At the end of the trek, flights from Lukla were getting cancelled, but we were somehow on the first flight out. No delays to our travel plans, which was such a relief.
Overall, it was an exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime experience made unforgettable by Nepal Hiking Team. If you’re a solo traveller looking to trek in Nepal, I’d highly recommend this company. Huge thanks to Ganga, Ram, and the whole team!
