Can’t even put into words how amazing this trip was. First, the hospitality shown by everyone from the Nepal Hiking Team was extraordinary. Our guide, Uttam, was there to pick us up from the airport when we arrived and was amazing while we were on our trek and after the trek until we were departing Nepal. He was encouraging, informative, and he never missed a chance to make our trip better, including cutting fresh fruit every night, constantly making sure we were feeling okay during the trek, and even taking us around Kathmandu when we returned to find souvenirs for our family. Our porter, Binod, was also amazing and always had a smile on his face. Ganga gave us all of the information we needed before the trip and made sure we were well informed and ready. This was a great trip, but the people we met along the way really pushed the experience over the edge and made it truly unforgettable.
Second, we knew that we were embarking on a beautiful journey, but nothing could have prepared us for the actual views we were treated to. Coming from the US, we simply do not have anything to compare to the size of the mountains we saw on this trek. The views from Kala Patthar and Nagerjun were truly breathtaking. You get to see so many beautiful mountains along the way, our favorite was the multiple viewpoints of Ama Dablam. Everything we saw from the bridges to the wildlife to the changing scenery was spectacular and made this a trip of a lifetime.
Lastly, the little things that our guide (Uttam) and the Nepal Hiking team did for us was a significant boost to the experience. Uttam made sure we were comfortable, that we always had water, he took our meal order at every meal, and he made us feel at home in Nepal. He always gave a us a preview of our next days hike at dinner the night before so we were well prepared and ready for the coming day. He never missed a chance to take pictures of us along the trek and he motivated us on the hard days.
This was hands down one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back to Nepal someday!
